PRESS RELEASE

MUST WATCH: KALM KAOZ’S INTERPLANETARY VIDEO PREMIERE OF MARTIAN STARDUST

Hammarica EDM News

“Mr. Faber’s talent is incredible. He films video live, bringing in unique and powerful effects on the fly, changing lenses constantly. His camera work is much like DJing live - the effects and essence he achieves cannot be replicated in post-production. Simply a must watch.”

KALM KAOZ and its label, MASSIVE DECKS, announce the release of their “MARTIAN STARDUST” music video, filmed and directed by the renowned Jasper Faber hailing from Amsterdam. The video’s track is from KALM KAOZ’s upcoming EP entitled, K-HOLE, and their “ZIGGY STARDUST” release.
The video is complex, beautiful and alien, capturing KALM KAOZ’s musical vision of their “ZIGGY STARDUST” track. The video was directed and filmed by Jasper Faber, famed Director/Cameraman hailing from Amsterdam, Holland. Mr. Faber is known for his work on TV commercials, documentaries, music videos and his profoundly unique form of filming. KALM KAOZ noted: “Mr. Faber’s talent is incredible. He films video live, bringing in unique and powerful effects on the fly, changing lenses constantly. His camera work is much like DJing live - the effects and essence he achieves cannot be replicated in post-production. Simply a must watch.”
The “MARTIAN STARDUST” Art Director, Ms. Joyce Collin of Joyce Collin Styling, helped manifest the vision for the “MARTIAN STARDUST” video. Ms. Collins’ vision of a high-fashion “alien vibe” tribute to Mr. David Bowie’s genius has a powerful impact on the video. The combination of Mr. Faber and Ms. Collin’s talent created a work of art. In an age when music videos have lost potency, the “MARTIAN STARDUST” video stands as juxtaposition. It is a rare treat to the eyes, creating a powerful connection between KALM KAOZ’s track, “ZIGGY STARDUST”, and the alien essence of the storied history of the original track.
Martian Stardust Hammarica EDM NewsMr. Peter Forelli, owner of White Bridge Productions, a motion picture production company and studio based in New York, produced the video, bringing together KALM KAOZ, Mr. Faber and Ms. Collin. After hearing the KALM KAOZ “ZIGGY STARDUST” track, Mr. Forelli was enthusiastic about the project, stating: “the track is powerful and open to many possibilities on the filming and creative side. The combination of KALM KAOZ’s “ZIGGY STARDUST” track, coupled with the unique video is potent and will leave a powerful mark on the dance music community.”
KALM KAOZ is thrilled to work with this level of talent, stating “KALM KAOZ is overwhelmed with the video and the entire team’s effort to create something new and worthy. The video is breathtaking, captures the essence of our track, and stands out within the dance music video genre.”

KALM KAOZ
ZIGGY STARDUST” – CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 5TH KIND

We’re into building bridges, musically and personally

KALM KAOZ and its label, MASSIVE DECKS, announce the release of “ZIGGY STARDUST” from their upcoming EP entitled, K-HOLE.ZIGGY STARDUST”, KALM KAOZ’s remake of David Bowie’s epic track of the same name originally released in 1972. “ZIGGY STARDUST” is a follow-up to KALM KAOZ’s highly regarded “GET HAPPY” remake of the renowned Judy Garland swing-time track. KALM KAOZ’s vision is to build bridges, from old school rock ‘n roll and myriad influences to today’s dance music community. The music video was recorded in the California desert and will be released soon.
Johann of BPM Magazine South Africa was one of the first persons to hear the track and he immediately took to Twitter, tweeting: “@KalmKaoz have send me a secret private @SoundCloud treat - a Ziggy Stardust instrumental they've been working on... loving it."
KALM KAOZ continues its effort to bring more complexity and texture to the electro house genre. They are a juxtaposition to today’s continued simplification of production and music within the genre. The “ZIGGY STARDUST” remake is an epic adventure. The track breaks boundaries and is expansive, bringing layers of detail throughout the track. From unique synthesizer sounds, Brazilian vocal-chops woven into the driving tapestry of the percussions, to the track’s amalgamation of sounds, including deep house and tech house, KALM KAOZ’s “ZIGGY STARDUST” is potent.
www.hammarica.comKALM KAOZ hopes to highlight Bowie’s vision. The original “ZIGGY STARDUST” track was part of the album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” released by Mr. Bowie, representing a grand theatrical presentation. As with KALM KAOZ and it’s “MAYHEM TWINZ”, Ziggy Stardust represented Bowie’s alter-ego, a rock star who acts as a messenger for extraterrestrial beings. Ziggy is the human manifestation of an alien being who is attempting to present humanity with a message of hope. Ziggy Stardust represents the definitive rock star, but with a message, ultimately, of peace and love.
As SlingR from KALM KAOZ said, “We’re into building bridges, musically and personally. There’s so much music out there that people aren’t aware of and we’re all about sharing music.” Motoe Haus of KALM KAOZ followed, “The track evolved over the last month. We revisited the production after our inspiring European pilgrimage. You can hear these influences in “ZIGGY STARDUST”, incorporating deep house and tech vibes into our big room sound."
Hearing the preview of KALM KAOZ’s “ZIGGY STARDUST”, MTV VJ and highly regarded rock ‘n roll historian, Mr. Matt Pinfield, said “KALM KAOZ fuses the power of dance music with the timeless classic Bowie track to bring it to a new level. The KALM KAOZ track introduces a whole new generation to the alchemy of Ziggy, just as Bowie did when he introduced the rock world to electronic and dance with “Low and Young Americans”. Legendary DJ and producer Mr. Mohamed Moretta added “"Kalm Kaoz breathes a breath of fresh air into the cookie cutter sounds of today...one word burns in my head every time I hear Ziggy Stardust... ADVENTUROUS!”
“ZIGGY STARDUST” is being released after KALM KAOZ arrived back from a month in Europe, throwing its first-ever “ELECTRIK KOOL-AID” party in Ibiza with the Pacha Group during Ibiza’s closing season. The closing season party was followed by SlingR’s appearance on the AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT’s radio panel, along with Armin van Buuren, discussing the future of music and and technology.
KALM KAOZ just released an original track on SoundCloud called “WBAJ” for free download (www.soundcloud.com/kalmkaoz)
KALM KAOZ is also working to bring their ELECTRIK KOOL-AID party to clubs and festivals around the world, so stay tuned. KALM KAOZ RADIO is in the works, so let the peace, love, mercy and mischief begin.

Y ahora presentamos en exclusiva 'Ziggy Stardust' de Kalm Kaoz  para que lo conozcáis, combinando house, electro house y rock en esta original pieza.

Nota de prensa de la presentación de Kalm Kaoz

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hollywood's talk-of-the-town Electro duo Kalm Kaoz recently took on a major challenge when they decided to compete in Insomniac's Discovery Project – This initiative vows to discover new DJ talent to feature at Insomniac's major festivals. Impressively, Kalm Kaoz only had 7 days to remix James Egbert's dubstep driven "Back to New" and lay down an attention-grabbing 30 minute set. In its first few days of release, their remix received over 30,000 YouTube views and ranked #1 since its release date on Soundcloud. Insomniac Events will make its decision about its latest Discovery Project selection on March 8th.

Music has always been a way of life for both SlingR and Filby, the two masterminds behind Kalm Kaoz. Perhaps a surprise to his former peers on Wall Street and the EDM industry, SlingR spent his adult career as an investment banker, most recently as a Managing Director of Beverly Hills- based Platinum Equity, a multi-billion take-over fund. Three years ago SlingR walked away from his high profile banking career, feeling he was stuck in the wrong world; the wrong life.

As SlingR says: I played the Wall Street game for years while writing music and learning DAWs as a respite, but music, sweet music; it’s always been pulling at me, singing to me, whispering to me, ‘go back to your true love, go back to your song, go back to creating art, music, and love.”

Disillusioned with the Wall Street money chase, SlingR met Filby, a seasoned music producer and DJ originally from Victoria, Canada. Filby moved to Los Angeles 6 years ago, building a successful career in music production, both selling tracks to major pop and hip hop acts, as well as producing myriads of DJ Motoe Haus content.

When the opportunity of Insomniac's Discovery Project arose, Kalm Kaoz acted swiftly and transformed James Egbert's Back To New into an electro dance anthem featuring fat reverberating synths and a killer 70s style grinder-electro section.

SlingR: “We love the vocal - we too want to say thank you; to James Egbert and Insomniac; big respect, to all those supporting us, the epic producers and DJs who inspire us, our fans and the universe for providing Kalm Kaoz the opportunity to share our vision.

Filby added: Our fans are the coolest cats in town. We want them to feel thanked, that we are grateful to them, grateful to give back our art and induce joy; a therapeutic moment when house music sets us free; free from judgment, and free from absurd social constructs. Our tracks and sets will always seek that magical festival moment, when that festival-magic drops like a bunker buster; boom. Dancing for hours straight, all of life's problems consumed by the beats.”

Kalm Kaoz began taking form when Filby stopped in at SlingR's studio, heard his productions and DJ’ing, saw his Ableton work and techniques and it was instant. "Look brotha, you're smoking. I'm blown away. I hear you never leave the house anymore and only produce and DJ alone all week, every day.” It was apparently 4am and Filby set up his gear and said: Let’s try and spin together with no sync or connection. We won’t be able to hear each other’s tracks through headphones.”

SlingR: Yeah, it was one of the moments, Filby double-dog-dared me to throw down.” That night they spun together for 9 straight hours - an intense trance/electro jam session they wish they had recorded.
Kalm Kaoz also founded the new EDM record label Massive Decks Recordings for which they actively seek L.A.-based producer/DJ talent. The label is well funded and believes the L.A. EDM scene has robust talent, but few vehicles through which to be recognized.

We are both obsessed with music, it’s in our DNA. We are creating something new and a brand that stands for freedom and celebrating life,” says Filby with a cheeky grin. SlingR adds, Leaving a multibillion dollar fund as a partner to go broaden my musical pallet was perfectly crazy to the muggles and an emotionally powerful moment for me. There are always hurdles - we must struggle at times in life and prosper at others. It's the human condition, but they’re just bad patches and if you bring love into the equation and a spiritual understanding of acceptance, hurdles are just speed bumps. We have great belief in our message, sound and reverence. We are here to help people celebrate and illustrate that hurdles are illusions. Love and hard work is the secret sauce.”
Keep an eye on for the storm. Kalm Kaoz is bringing a Category 5 level hurricane to a city near you.
